Conservation of Corn crake (Crex crex) in the Natura 2000 "Hârtibaciului Plateau" site - proposal for a project submitted for financing under the LIFE+ program. The corn crake is declining at European level due to intensification of agriculture and habitat reduction, but in the Transylvanian Plateau there is still a significant population.

2009 - 2010
Restoration and conservation activities of the secular oak meadow habitat in the Breite Reservation within the project "Conservation of Biodiversity in the Secular Oak Natural Reservation from Breite, Sighişoara" implemented by the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation. These included: cleaning the hillside hut invasion of the plateau, building ten fireplaces for visitors, consolidating the earth ditches used to fill up the artificial drainage ditches, the removal and burning of invasive weeds.

2009 - 2010
Scientific research activities within the project "Conservation of Biodiversity in the Secular Oak Natural Reservation from Breite, Sighişoara", covered by the study of ecology of entomofauna, herpetofauna, ornithofauna and mammalian fauna of the reservation. Moreover, the role of secular oaks as habitats for microbiocenoses, beetle, birds, micromammals and chiroptera was studied.

2009 - 2010
The team of researchers of the Association has inventoried a number of 36 grassland habitats with secular trees in the Sighişoara - Agnita - Rupea - Mediaş area, identifying 153 oaks with a circumference of over 4.7m. Following this success, EcoTransilvania is currently working on a website where public members will be able to record old and valuable trees from all over Romania: www.arbori-batrani.ro

Participation in the elaboration of the Breite Reservation Management Plan, funded by the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation (approved by the Commission for the Protection of Natural Monuments within the Romanian Academy, with the approval No. 1561 / 12 June 2007).

Providing scientific data on the potential impact of the construction of the Transylvania Motorway on internationally protected species of fauna.

Participation in the filling in of standard sheets for the designation of Natura 2000 ROSCI0227 Sighişoara - Târnava Mare and ROSPA0099 Hârtibaciului Plateau sites.

Conservation of birds from open areas and their habitats in the south of Transylvania Plateau, Romania", funded by the Rufford Maurice Laing Foundation. The ecological research of the bird species carried out in this project provided the necessary data for the conservation measures of the habitats of these species. Furthermore, an important component of the project was rising the awareness and education of locals, especially of young people.
